MGM Resorts Recognizes Efforts to Secure Comprehensive Workplace


This week, MGM Resorts International was recognized for its inclusivity efforts when it won the Seramount Inclusion Index Company. Seramount is an organization where various thought leaders share best practices and create solutions for cultural change. This rating further confirms MGM Resorts’ commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

MGM Resorts is one of the most famous names in the gambling industry because it provides world-class gaming facilities throughout the United States, and premium hotels and others are complementing it. Through the BetMGM brand, the company also offers outstanding online gambling and sports betting. The platform is available online in numerous North American markets, including Ontario, Canada.

Seramount reported that the gambling leader is one of 36 organizations recognized as the Leading Inclusion Index Company. Organizations are evaluated as three key areas for recruiting, maintaining, and developing low-representation groups of people. These include women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals; inclusive corporate culture, leadership responsibility, and demographic diversity for women and ethnic minorities.

Jyoti Chopra, MGM Resorts Chief Executive Officer, Inclusion and Sustainability, shared that the company is honored to be recognized for its continued commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. She added that the company’s continued growth in this area further strengthens the company’s determination to ensure that the principles of diversity and inclusion remain a priority.

Katie Oertli Mooney, managing director of Diversity Best Practices in Seramount, shared the joy the organization is seeing companies continue their DEI effort efficiency. They do so by examining responsibility protocols through indicators that discover challenges and create opportunities for new steps. She added that she was proud of the organization’s recognition of the commitment and development of inclusion index companies.

According to the 2022 Seramount Inclusion Index, 88% of companies provide learning and development opportunities to employee resource group leaders, while 54% include ERG leadership positions in their succession plans. Meanwhile, 89% of companies offer anti-racism training, 90% set percentage targets for diverse representation, 67% of companies compensate for DEI results, and 97% have formal supplier diversity programs.
