Chinese national soccer team striker Wu Lei (33, Haigang, Shanghai) has warned fans to be wary of a scammer claiming to be his relative online and has reported him to the police.
“Wu Lei has reported to the police a scammer who claimed to have exchanged messages with him online, showing a captured screen and claiming to be his relative,” Chinese portal NetEase said on Aug. 8.
According to reports, a netizen who goes by the profile “Wu Jianyu” on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, showed screenshots of cell phone messages with Wu Lei and claimed to be related. He claimed that if fans wanted Wu Lei’s autograph, 파워볼사이트 he would give it to them in a monthly drawing in his fan group.
Upon hearing this, Urey replied, “This is a lie. I want to inform you that this person infiltrated among my fans, pretended to be my relative, falsified chat history, and faked photos. I will report him to the police. I want to warn everyone, bad people are everywhere.”
Since the news broke, the profile “Wu Jianyu” on WeChat has disappeared.
Wu Lei, one of Chinese soccer’s leading strikers, has played in all 30 games in the Chinese Super League this season, scoring 34 goals. He traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to train with the national team for their 2026 North American World Cup Asia third qualifier against Bahrain on Sunday night.
