Five ejections against LG

Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop has been ejected for the first time in his managerial career.

Lee was ordered to leave the game against the LG Twins of the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at Jamsil Stadium on Sept. 29 after protesting a video review in the top of the fifth inning.

In the top of the fifth inning, tied 0-0, LG put runners on second and third with a single by Moon Bo-kyung, a sacrifice bunt by Heo Do-hwan, a ball hit into the body of Park Hae-min, and a catcher’s fastball.

Doosan then walked Hong Chang-ki to load the bases for Moon Sung-ju. With the bases loaded, Doosan pitcher Kim Myung-shin gave up a double to left field to Moon.

Hong Chang-ki, who had advanced from first to third, raced home on a throwing error by Doosan left fielder Kim Tae-geun. Doosan catcher Yang Yang-ji got the ball back and tagged Hong Chang-ki, who made a head-first sliding catch at home.

The initial call was out.

However, LG requested a video review. The umpires confirmed that the catcher had violated the home plate collision rule. To prevent injuries, the KBO prohibits opposing catchers from intentionally blocking home plate when a runner is rushing home from third base.

The replay showed that the call was overturned as a save.

Lee then took to the field to appeal to the umpires. He argued that Yang didn’t intentionally block home plate, but that his foot naturally got in the way during the catching process.

However, Lee’s appeal was not accepted. According to the rule that protesting a video review will result in an ejection, Lee was sent off.

It was his 17th ejection of the season. 카지노사이트 Lee is the eighth coach to be sent off.
