Hwang Ui-jo scored the game-winning goal in the first minute of the second half to give Notts County a 1-0 victory in their first pre-season match at Meadow Lane in Nottingham, England, on Sept. 16.

In his Nottingham debut, Hwang remained on the bench. He came on as a substitute at the start of the second half and pressed hard to win the ball back from the opposition. He scored with his trademark winding kick. It was Hwang’s debut goal for Nottingham and his first goal of the night. With a goal as soon as he came on, Hwang made a strong first impression.

After the game, Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper told BBC Radio: “It wasn’t a very pleasant game. We didn’t want to play more than 45 minutes because the players were warming up. We lost a few players through injury. We had two or three new players. It wasn’t a smooth game, but it’s okay,” he said, giving newcomer Hwang Ui-jo an overall pass on his performance.

“We made some mistakes, but our pace wasn’t too bad. The team needs to get back into competitive mode quickly to play in front of the crowd,” Cooper said, urging Hwang and other players to get in shape quickly in the offseason.

Hwang joined Nottingham from Bordeaux (France) last August to challenge for the English Premier League (PL). However, he was 토토 quickly loaned out to Olympiakos (Greece) and never played in a Nottingham shirt.

After being relegated to the bench at Olympiakos, Hwang Ui-jo joined K League 1 side FC Seoul on a six-month loan in the first half of the season. After improving his form as a regular starter in the K League, he returned to his original club, Nottingham, ahead of the 2023-2024 season. His goal on his debut for Nottingham gave him a huge boost of confidence as he competed for a starting spot in the preseason.

Recently, Hwang has been embroiled in a personal life controversy. Last month, Ms. A, who claims to be his ex-girlfriend, posted photos and videos of his private life on her social media accounts. Ms. A claimed that there were multiple victims, including celebrities.

In response, Hwang Ui-jo released a statement on the 29th, saying, “The person who made the post is a criminal who defamed me with falsehoods and took the opportunity to threaten me for possessing private videos through illegal channels.” Hwang has since sued A and is fighting the case in court.

Despite the controversy in his personal life, Hwang returned to Nottingham and impressed in his first pre-season game.
