James Maddison and Enze Postecoglou are among the nominees for the Premier League (PL) Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards for August.

The Premier League announced on its official website the six nominees for the August Player of the Month and five nominees for the Manager of the Month awards for the 2023-24 season.

The nominees for the Player of the Month award are Tywar Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest), Jerrod Bowen (West Ham United), James Maddison (Tottenham Hotspur), Brian Mbemo (Brentford), Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) and Rodri (Manchester City).

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool), Miguel Arteta (Arsenal), David Moyes (West Ham United), and Enze Postecoglou (Tottenham Hotspur) were nominated for Manager of the Month.

The managers of the teams finishing first through fifth in the league have been nominated, with Postecoglou being the first of them to be recognized. “Postecoglou, who was appointed ahead of this season, is the first Australian to manage in the Premier League. He has turned Tottenham into an attacking side, drawing with Brentford and winning against Manchester United and Bournemouth. He is quickly making a name for himself.”

The attacking-minded manager has been a major change for Spurs since his arrival from Celtic in Scotland in August. After a disappointing eighth-place finish last season, Spurs are off to a flying start in the league under Postecoglou, who has been hailed as the return of attacking football. Within a month of his appointment, Postecoglou was nominated for a manager of the month award.

Maddison, who joined Spurs this summer from Leicester City, is also up for Player of the Month. The midfielder has already made a name for himself in the Premier League. He has the talent and versatility to play creatively. Since 2018, he has steadily improved at Leicester City, and last year he led the team with 10 goals and nine assists in the league as they faced relegation.

Since joining from a relegation-threatened Leicester City, Maddison has quickly become Tottenham’s ace in the hole. Upon arrival, he was named vice-captain alongside Cristian Romero. He made his mark from the first league game with two assists. He followed that up with back-to-back goals against Bournemouth and Burnley, giving him two goals and two assists in a month.

Speaking of Maddison, the PL secretariat added: “With his 메이저사이트 arrival this summer, Tottenham quickly transformed into an attacking football based on ball possession, and he was at the center of it all.”

The other Player of the Month nominees are all strong contenders. Mbemo, who is tied for second in the league with four goals, and Bowen, who has two goals and an assist, are tough to beat. There’s also Awoniyi, who is on a seven-game goal scoring streak dating back to last season, and Rodri, who has a league-leading 361 passes. Add to that Mitoma’s 11 chances created, and only two players have more.

The teams nominated for Coach of the Year are all unbeaten side by side. The winners will be revealed next week, based on a combination of fan and expert votes.
