The Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) snapped a two-game losing streak behind a barrage of 3-pointers.

The Celtics hit 19 3-pointers to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 121-107 in their 2023-2024 regular season opener, which doubled as an in-season tournament, at TD Garden in Massachusetts on Monday (Nov. 11).

After snapping a two-game losing streak, Boston also earned its first win in the Eastern Conference Group C of the in-season tournament.

New for this season, the in-season tournament is played in conjunction with regular season play.

The East and West conferences are divided into six groups, with the first-place team from each group and two of the remaining two second-place teams advancing to the eight-team tournament to determine the champion.

Boston, which led by as many as 18 points at one point, entered the fourth quarter trailing by nine after a Brooklyn comeback in the third quarter.

Boston’s Tatum and Sam Hauser (15 points) took turns hitting 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to pull away from Brooklyn.

The Philadelphia 76ers extended their winning streak to seven games with a 114-106 victory over the Detroit Pistons, led by Joel Embiid.

Embiid scored 33 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to lead Philadelphia’s winning streak. Philadelphia, which sits in Group A of the 토토 Eastern Conference, recorded its first win in the in-season tournament.

Detroit, meanwhile, lost its seventh straight game.
