The Grammy Awards recognized K-pop acts RIIZE and VCHA in its “25 Artists to Watch in 2024” list, highlighting their potential in the global music scene. On Thursday (local time), the list was unveiled on Grammy.com, featuring a diverse array of talents from the U.S., U.K., Australia, Mexico and Korea. Writer Jack Tregoning praised the artists for their shared attributes of “a sure sense of their purpose and a hopeful eye to the future .”RIIZE, the sole K-pop boy band in the list, earned the music award’s nod as having “solidified themselves as one of K-pop’s fifth-generation leaders,” with a prediction that “2024 is on course to be an even bigger year for them.”

Comprised of members Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Sohee, Anton and the presently inactive Seunghan, the group is set to release its new single “Love 119” Friday evening. Similarly, VCHA was the only K-pop girl group named on the list despite their pre-debut status. The Grammys introduced the group, highlighting that “JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park and Republic Records CEO Monte Lipman made history by announcing the development of the first American girl group trained under a K-pop system .”VCHA is scheduled to debut on Jan. 26 with the single “Girls of the Year.” The group includes six non-Korean members — Lexi, Camila, Kendall, Savanna, KG and Kaylee — selected through the global 슬롯게이밍 girl group launching project A2K (America2Korea).
