The Doosan Bears won their second straight game despite manager Lee Seung-yup being ejected for the second straight day.
Doosan won the second game of a midweek three-game series against the 2024 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League NC 4-3 in 11 innings at NC Park in Changwon on Friday. It was the second straight win to clinch the Winning Series. Their record now stands at 34 wins, 27 losses and two ties. NC lost its third straight. They remain in sixth place with 28 wins, 31 losses and one tie.
Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop has been ejected from two consecutive games. In the top of the ninth inning of the game on Thursday, Lee appealed the decision, claiming that NC shortstop Kim Joo-won’s defense at second base was a “roadblock” after Cho Su-hyun’s steal of second base was ruled out after video review.
On this day, the situation was a little different. In the top of the seventh inning, with the score tied 1-1, Cho Sung-duk hit a slider from Kim Young-kyu that went wide of first base. NC missed a golden opportunity in the bottom of the ninth. Kim Hui-jip hit a fly ball that was strangely deflected by Choi Ji-kang. It was hard to call an infield fly. It dropped in front of the second baseman for an infield hit. Seo Ho-chul followed with a hard hit toward third base, and Doosan third baseman Heo Kyung-min made a difficult throw to first base, but Seo was safe. However, with runners on first and second, Kim Hyung-joon and Kim Joo-won struck out in succession.

Doosan won the game in the 11th inning. After a leadoff walk to Kim Jae-hwan, Jeon Min-jae reached on a throwing error by NC shortstop Kim Joo-won. That’s where Kang Seung-ho, who is 1-for-24 in his last four at-bats, came in to pinch-hit. He hit the game-winning RBI single off Song Myung-ki. NC was unable to mount a comeback in the bottom of the 11th.
After Kwak Bin was sent down, Kim Taek-yeon, Lee Byung-heon, Kim Kang-ryul, Choi Ji-kang, Hong Gun-hee, and Lee Young-ha took the mound for Doosan. Young-ha Lee earned the save. For NC, Kim Si-hoon was sent down, followed by Han Jae-seung, Kim Young-kyu, Lee Yong-chan, Kim Jae-yeol, and Song Myung-ki. Song Myung-ki took the loss.
