‘I think there was a definite improvement’

Samsung has wrapped up its practice games with amateur teams. Samsung, which conducted ‘off-season 2’ with its own practice games in addition to body building and physical fitness, completed another season of preparation through practice games with universities and businesses. Coach Kim Hyo-beom expressed his satisfaction.

Seoul Samsung invited Sangsung and Dongguk University to the STC practice gym in Yongin on the 29th for a three-way match. It was an unusual format, but the two teams played against 토토사이트 추천 different lineups to improve their backup skills and increase their match fitness.

First up was Dongguk University. They scored 50 points in the second quarter and won 50-28. The game was a testament to the shooting prowess of Lee Jung-hyun and Lee Dae-sung. The same goes for Lee Won-seok, who has been in great form in the offseason.

The next game was against Sangmu. They faced them with a starting lineup that included Lee Dae-sung and Lee Jung-hyun. They led 27-24 in the first quarter. Lee Jung-hyun and Lee Dae-sung were on fire from the perimeter, and Lee Won-seok’s performance under the basket wasn’t bad either.

In the second quarter, Samsung took an 11-point lead, 37-26, thanks to Lee Jung-hyun and Lee Won-seok’s scoring, combined with solid defense. Three minutes had passed. Sangmu couldn’t find a groove on offense. They even committed a turnover and lost the lead. With four minutes left, they made a run. Yang Hong-seok hit a fast break and a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 33-38.

A jumper by Choi Sung-mo and a dunk by Gutang Elioup pushed Samsung’s lead back to 10 points, 43-33. After conceding one more goal, Sangmu called timeout with just over three minutes left in regulation. It was a moment for one last push. Not much changed. Samsung brought on Jo Joon-hee and others to close out the game. They closed out the game with a 50-point run. They won 50-43.

After the game, Coach Kim said, “We didn’t play many practice matches compared to other teams. We focused on evaluating our internal strength through our own matches. We thought about and used a lot of combinations with the amateur team. We didn’t play zone offense at all. Our opponents used a lot of zone defense. The players balanced themselves. We saw some good things.”

Kim also talked about the thickening of the squad, saying, “We just want to clarify the roles. I know there are concerns about Lee Dae-sung and Lee Jung-hyun coexisting. So far, it’s so good. We’re playing happy basketball. In difficult situations, I have to manage them.”

Finally, Kim said, “I’m satisfied with the results of the practice with the amateur team. After the game against the professional team, we have a plan to train in Japan. In the future, the roster will be simplified. If foreign players are included, there will only be about nine domestic players. I’m still thinking about the rotation. I think we have a good defensive foundation. When a foreign player joins, we need to check the organization, the organicity. We put in a trap tactic. We will continue to organize the switch and zone,” he concluded.

After practicing with the amateur team, Samsung will start playing with the professional team on Thursday (29) against KCC. The team will then head to Japan for a training camp. Upon returning to Korea, the team will work to improve the problems that have arisen and practice again before starting the season in earnest with cup competitions.
