Hong Kong-listed gaming investment firm Imperial Pacific International Holdings on Monday announced the appointment of veteran casino executive Mark Brown (pictured) as president and chief executive of the Saipan Casino Resort Project.
The appointment will take effect on November 10, the company said in a filing.
Brown served as president of Venice Macao and Sands Macao from April 2006 to April 2009. He joined the Cambodian casino operator NagaCorp Ltd in December 2013 as chief operating officer of its subsidiary, NagaWorld Ltd, but resigned last month “to pursue other opportunities,” Nagakov said in a filing in late October.
“As chief executive with a background in person in charge of prominent gaming figures, Brown is uniquely qualified to direct mega operations from the ground up and strategize for long-term growth,” Imperial Pacific wrote in a filing Monday.
“Brown has established himself as one of the most respected professionals in the world in his unique category of high-end Asian gaming and junket operations,” the statement added. “Given that the [Saipan] project is primarily aimed at clients based in Asia, Brown’s extensive experience makes him highly suited to the group’s casino resort project.”
Brown will meet again with Jacqueline Wu, who was recently named senior vice president of corporate marketing for the Saipan project at Imperial Pacific. The two worked together at Las Vegas Sands Corporation in Macau.
