Brazilian soccer star Robinho (40), who was sentenced to nine years in prison for gang rape in Italy, will pay the price in his home country.

Robinho was found guilty in the first trial in November 2017 of gang-raping a 23-year-old Albanian woman along with five other friends in Milan, Italy in January 2013 while playing for AC Milan in the Italian professional soccer Serie A.
Robinho appealed twice, but following the appeal trial, the nine-year prison sentence was finally confirmed by the Italian Supreme Court in January 2022.
