It was Ryu Hyun-jin, 36, the “Korean Monster” who plays for Toronto in Major League Baseball (MLB).

Despite his fatigue from the previous evening’s game, he brought his wife,

Bae Ji-hyun, and their daughter to the airport where the team was waiting for their

connecting flight. Ryu’s visit to the airport was organized by Chung Geun-woo, 41,

the head coach of the women’s national baseball team. Ryu has maintained a close

relationship with Chung, having played alongside him at the 2008 Beijing Olympics,

where they won the gold medal in a nine-game sweep, and at the second

World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 2009, where they finished as runners-up.
